Radio sausage is best banger in the East

Noddy Holder has named the Hertbeat Banger as the best sausage in the East, named many years ago after Hertbeat FM.

The station has since changed its name to JACK fm but the sausage remains to be made by a butcher in Stevenage.

The competition received hundreds of entries and Brookfield Farm won the East’s regional heat to receive the Golden Sausage Disc and a place in the British Sausage Week Hall of Fame.

Slade frontman Noddy Holder has been touring the country since 31st October to uncover that little bit of sparkle that makes for a really special sausage.

Commenting on Brookfield Farm’s winning sausage, Noddy said: “Brookfield Farm’s Hertbeat Banger was absolutely delicious. They very much deserve their prize and place in the British Sausage Week Hall of Fame.”

Steve Folland from JACK fm told RadioToday.co.uk: “Sadly.. it’s still called the Hertbeat Banger and not JACK’s Sausage – but Noddy Holder likes my sausage!”
