Eagle Extra celebrates 12 months on air

Eagle Extra, the education station from Eagle Radio, celebrated its 1st birthday last week by supporting World Autism Awareness day.

Special content and features were broadcast on the day recorded and produced locally by children and young people on the autistic spectrum across Surrey & Hampshire.

eagleextraThe station won a grant from Surrey Short Breaks for disabled children to deliver broadcasting workshops to children and young people with autism through specialist schools and support organisations.

James Posner, Head of Community & Education at Eagle Radio comments: “we are delighted to once again to receive funding to run radio workshops with children and young people on the autistic spectrum and for them to broadcast such relevant and meaningful content on World Autism Awareness Day is truly inspiring”.

Eagle Extra, formerly County Sound Radio which broadcasts on 1566mw is demonstrating the appetite and commercial viability of local radio.
